LESSONS LEARNT FROM 1CORINTHIANS CHAPTER 9.
1. Apostle Paul and Barnabas achieved so much in their ministries and shootout because of their sacrificial lifestyle. The level of such self denial and discipline is outstanding!
2. Servants of God who sow spiritual things in the lives of people are worthy to receive material things from the people. Verse 11.
3. Those who perform the temple services eat the food from the temple and those who serve still the altar share in the offerings of the altar. Those who preach the Gospel should earn their living by the Gospel. Verses 13 and 14.
4. Preaching of The gospel is an obligation for every believer. It should be done willingly and joyfully. The Father rewards every preacher of the Gospel with eternal and material rewards.
5. Apostle Paul was not mindful of material and earthly rewards. He was self-sufficient.Verse 15.
6. To the Jews, I become like a Jew in order to win the Jews when preaching the Gospel. This does not mean that we should embrace a culture that contradicts the word of God in order to win a soul. Verse 19.
7. Every child of God is running a race to win a prize. We should not run the race anyhow but according to the rules. Verse 24.
