1 Samuel 30
“And it came to pass, when David and his men were come to Ziklag on the third day, that the Amalekites had invaded the south, and Ziklag, and smitten Ziklag, and burned it with fire; 2 And had taken the women captives, that were therein: they slew not any, either great or small, but carried them away, and went on their way. 3. So David and his men came to the city, and, behold, it was burned with fire; and their wives, and their sons, and their daughters, were taken captives.
4 Then David and the people that were with him lifted up their voice and wept, until they had no more power to weep.
5 And David’s two wives were taken captives, Ahinoam the Jezreelitess, and Abigail the wife of Nabal the Carmelite.
Our introductory scripture tells us about recovery, let’s look at the principle of recovery, it supposes that something which was once yours or something which once existed no longer exists because it was lost stolen.
But if we go deeper into what recovery really means, it simply means reconnecting us back to God’s original purpose for us, so we can summarize that recovery means realigning you with the original purpose of God concerning you, as it has been written concerning you.
In this kingdom we are in, nothing happens by accident, you are not an incident in history at all, it was pointed out in the book of hebrews 4:3 that God’s works have been completed from the foundation of the World, in other words, it means God is not confused about your next move.
He is not confused about what you need to be doing, from the foundation of the World, God has ordained all that concerns you.
His plans for you are glorious, God did not make any person a failure because He was deliberate about you and I,
In Jeremiah 29:10 the message version, the bible says ” I know what i am doing concerning you, i have it all planned out”, it doesn’t matter what is happening in the economy, “they are plans to take care of you, not to abandon you, plans to give you a future you hope for”,
My question for you now is: “what is the future you hope for? Because the Bible tells me that the expectation of the righteous will not be cut off, many of us don’t have expectation or our expectations are determined by the things that happen around us, Solomon in his wisdom was declaring in the book of Ecclesiastes 7:2 that God made mankind upright, but that we all have gone after several devises, another version says we have messed things up,
The bible says in John 8:32 that you will know the truth and it shall make you free, not set you free, there is a difference between these two: “Set you free” and “make you free”
I will tell you the difference, now somebody is locked up, such person is used to been in detention for example, probably he’s meant to go through a life imprisonment, and then a righteous man magnanimously comes to power and says release everybody, and they set all prisoners free,
Yes the prison doors are open, for some prisoners, even though the doors are opened, because life in prison is the life they are used to, they may not be bold enough to come out, while for others, they will come out but still live their lives as if they are prisoners, so it is when there is a reorientation of the mindset, that people are actually “made free”.
Even though Jesus Christ has set them free, on the cross of calvary over 2000 years ago but because their mindset have not been reconditioned, they still live in slavery, that is the challenge with many even believers, but today, surely as the Lord lives, you shall be made free, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Recovery is easy when you know what you have lost, recovery is easy when what has been lost is a tangible asset. For example, if a person losses a car, he can go to the police with vital information about the car, so they know what they are looking for, but when a person does not even know what he has lost, how does he even recover, when what is lost is not a tangible asset, how will he recover?
Now we know the devil is the thief, he comes to steal, kill and destroy, (John 10:10) however, make no mistake!, be aware that the devil has never been interested in tangible things
If the devil wants to make a person poor for example, the devil won’t steal the person’s money, neither will he steal the person’s car or house, he will rather steal your ability to get those things
The bible says that God gives us the power to get wealth, so when the devil wants to make someone poor, he will steal the power to get wealth so the lot of that person becomes near-success syndrome, delay, lack of favor, laboring for others to enjoy, lack of helpers, error in judgement, and several other negative circumstances, just in order for him or her to remain impoverished.
So what you will be recovering today are your prospects, your fortunes your favor your crowns.
It is when a man’s crown is stolen that he will not get to the place of destiny enthronement, and that’s what the devil likes to achieve.
Now like I said a short while ago, many are not even aware of what was stolen
For example, there’s a fellow in the bible, whose name was Mephiboseth, he was the grandson of Saul
His father just like many of our grandfather’s lost what God has ordained for us so many of us don’t even have the idea.
