REFLECTIONS ON PSALMS 135
Today, we study the Book of Psalms Chapter One hundred and Thirty Five which asserts that “the Lord is great, And our Lord is above all gods”

REFLECTION
“BEWARE OF IDOLS”
The Bible describes “god” as an “object of worship”(2 Thes 2:4)
Of course, there are many Competitors for the Title “GOD” on Earth and maybe on other planets!
According to John 17:3, Almighty God is “the only true (Supreme and Sovereign) God”
AN IDOL IS NOTHING!
The Bible asserts that “an idol is NOTHING at all in the world and that there is no God but one”
(1 Corinthians 8:1)
Psalms 135:15 -17 describes IDOLS as “the work of men’s hands”!
It is ironic that men make IDOLS from wood and stone and then worship same!
“MODERN IDOLS”
Indeed, whatever we treasure more than God & whatever drives our thoughts and actions is an IDOL such as:
1. Money/Wealth
2. Self
3. Fame
4. Security
5. Intellect
6. Relationship
7. Success
AN AFFRONT TO JEHOVAH
One of the Ten Commandments of Almighty God in Exodus 20 specifically forbids “worship of IDOLS of any kind”
IDOLATORY is reliance on other institutions/ Personality other than God – This is an INSULT to Jehovah
WHAT TO DO?
“GUARD YOURSELVES FROM IDOLS”
The Bible concluded that “we know that the Son of God has come and has given us an understanding, that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true in His Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God and eternal life. (1 John 5 :20)
Dear Believers, please “guard yourselves from IDOLS and anything that would take God’s place in your heart”
(1 John 5:21)
CONCLUSION
Every day, we make CHOICES!
As for me and my House, we will serve the Lord (Joshua 24:2)
Brethren, CHOOSE THIS DAY WHOM YE WILL SERVE!
We shall not bow to man-made gods!
Prayers
Father, grant us the grace to choose right and the wisdom to serve THE ONLY TRUE GOD.
