Let him lead me to the banquet hall, and let his banner over me be love.

HE makes me lie down in green pastures, HE leads me beside quiet waters, HE refreshes my soul. HE guides me along the right paths for HIS name’s sake.
*John3:16*
For GOD so loved the world that HE gave HIs one and only Son, that whoever believes in HIM shall not perish but have eternal life.
The book of the songs of Solomon is literally about the relationship of two lovers and the progress of their love.
In chapter 2, we see how each lover’s attention is focused on one another and forbidding any distraction or interference (vs7).
All the lady desires is to just stay and be refreshed in his company and the lover was willing to scale mountains and hills just to be near her.
As romantic as this book sounds, it has been ascribed to typify the relationship CHRIST wants with us.
JESUS did not need to scale mountains and hills to demonstrate HIS love for us; HE died to destroy what keeps us away from HIM and to bring us close to HIM in order to make us one with HIM.
And just as this chapter shows, it is in abiding in HIM that we receive refreshment and fulfilment. This is the relationship CHRIST is calling is into.
*Prayer Point
Oh LORD, revive our love for you again and let us love you again with all our hearts, our souls and minds in the mighty name of JESUS, Amen.
Thoughts On Songs Of Solomon Chapter 3
Themes: The Intensity of Love, Longing and Searching, The Celebration of Marriage and Spiritual Allegory.
This chapter offers an exquisite portrait of the journey of love marked by longing, searching and ultimately joyous Celebration. It affirms the importance of timing and the magnitude of mutual desire.
The radiant image of Solomon’s procession serves as a symbolic representation of the sacredness of marriage, reminding us of the value companionship, the sanctity of love and the spiritual allegories tied to our relationship with divine.
It is a beautifully poetic explanation of the profound longing that exists between two individuals in love.
Verse 1 captures the essence of longing and seeking whether interpreted as a human love story or a spiritual metaphor. It speaks of the universal human experience of yearning for connection and fulfilment.
In terms of relationship it means, “Let our love progress and grow until it is mature and fruitful, making a genuinely pleasing relationship; don’t let us go too fast.
In terms of passion it means, “Let our love making continue without interruption until we are both fulfilled”.
The watchmen here in verse 3 who go about the city are the Pastors in our present day churches whom God appointed to watch over the flocks in the church.
It was hard for the Old Testament church to find Christ in the ceremonial law. The watchmen of that church gave little assistance to those who sought after Him.
The night in verse 1 represents a time of coldness, darkness and drowsiness and of dim apprehension concerning spiritual things.
At first, when uneasy, some feeble efforts are made to obtain the comfort of communion with Christ. This proves in vain, the believer is then roused to increase diligence. The streets and broad ways seem to imply the means of grace in which the Lord is to be sought.
Lessons
The theme : Sex for marriage and to not even arouse or awaken the sexual desire and passion until after the marriage vows.
Verses 3-5 leads us to run from sexual sin ( sex before marriage and sex outside marriage).
From courtship to marriage to the assurance of love, Songs of Solomon poetically presents a broad range of events and feelings in the days leading up to and and during marriage, offering encouragement toward an enduring love amid the petty jealousies and fears sure to threaten even the strongest of relationships.
All these feelings are real but we have to be determined to make our marriage relationship work out well bringing glory to Our God.
