Today, we study Songs of Solomon 4, where “LOVE” is compared to and found to be “BETTER THAN WINE”

“How fair is your love, my sister, my spouse!
How much better than wine is your love and the scent of your perfumes than all spices”
REFLECTIONS
“SUPERNATURAL LOVE”
The young woman from Shulam first declared that “Your love is better than wine.” (Songs 1:2).
This declaration was also repeated in Songs 4:10, where the Bridegroom expressed the same to His Bride!
Can we fathom this love?
Brethren, it is almost impossible to estimate the LOVE OF GOD adequately.
The Scriptures testify to the following attributes of HIS LOVE:
UNCONDITIONAL
God demonstrates His love to us .While we were yet sinners, Christ died.
(Romans 5:8)
EVERLASTING LOVE
Indeed, the Lord has declared:”I have loved you with an EVERLASTING LOVE;Therefore, with loving kindness, I have drawn you. (Jer.31:3).
COVENANTAL LOVE
Psalms 89:3 also testified that God keeps Covenant.
SACRIFICIAL LOVE
This “LOVE” was demonstrated by Jesus by dying on the cross. Hence, apostle John submitted that “GREATER LOVE has no man than this, than to lay down his life for his friend.”
(John 15:13)
OUR RESPONSE
Love & Obey The Lord
The barometer of measuring how much we love the Lord is obedience to His commandments.
(John 14:15-21)
Love one Another
Another response to the love of the Lord should be: “Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other.”
(John 13:3-5,34)
THOSE WHO LOVE HIM
A guarantee for those who love Him : “IN ALL THINGS GOD IS WORKING FOR OUR GOOD” (Romans 8:28)
Conclusion
The supernatural LOVE OF GOD is truly beneficial, greater, and not comparable to wine or any substance, medicines, temporary feeling, or pleasure!

Father I thank you for loving us so much that You gave Jesus.
