THOUGHTS ON GALATIANS 1.
THEME: Paul’s Rebuke of the Galatians for Entertaining the Corrupted Ideas of the Judaizers.
This letter is directed to believers in the region of Galatia, also known as Asia Minor.
Paul identifies himself and makes a quick defence of the fact that he is, in fact, an Apostle because Jesus Christ and God the Father made him one . He is not a man-made or self-made Apostle. Verses:1-3.
LESSONS
-Salvation comes by God’s grace alone through Faith alone in Christ’s payment for our sin on the cross. Verses 4-9.
-True Apostles are those who are called by God and can not fall no matter the challenges they do.encounter but man-made Apostles can not stand the test of times.
PRAYER
Father, we thank You for bringing us this far!
Thank You, Father, because You will not allow any of Your people to fall by the wayside but will lead us to Your Kingdom in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name we pray! Amen!
REFLECTIONS ON GALATIANS 2
Today, we study the Epistle of Paul to the Galatians Chapter Two, where the MOTIVE of Jesus for giving His Life for mere mortals and sinners was revealed as “LOVE”
REFLECTIONS
“GREATER DEMONSTRATION OF LOVE-LAYING DOWN OWN LIFE”
Key Scriptures:
Galatians 2:20
“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, WHO LOVED ME AND GAVE HIMSELF FOR ME”
A GREAT LOVE STORY
The compelling theme of salvation is “LOVE”
Indeed, the most popular scripture is:
“FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD, THAT HE GAVE….” (John 3:16)
So, God’s love for HUMANITY motivated Him to give Jesus!
Indeed, the bible submitted that “God demonstrates His own LOVE toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us”
EVIDENCE OF LOVE
The following ACTIONS have been demonstrated as evidence of love:
1. GIVING
(John 3:16)
2. SACRIFICES/KINDNESS
(Proverbs 17:17)
3. FORGIVENESS
(1 Corinthuans 13)
4. OBEDIENCE
(John 15:14)
GREATER LOVE
The greatest sacrifice ever made was JESUS GIVING HIS OWN LIFE FOR SINNERS!
Jesus cooperated with His Father by accepting the Father’s Will and laying down his life (Luke 22:42)
The Bible described thus “GREATER LOVE HATH NO MAN THAN THIS, THAT A MAN LAY DOWN HIS LIFE FOR HIS FRIENDS”
(John 15:13)
Response to Love
Galatians 2 verse 20 affirmed that Jesus, gave His life for us because He loves us.
Our Response to this “Great Love” should include the follwing:
1. GODLINESS
2. SELF – CONTROL
3. DOING GOOD
4. LOVING JESUS
5. SERVING GOD
(Titus 2:11-14)
Prayers
Father we thank You for the value, You placed on us and for Loving us uncondiotionally.
We pray that You teach us Lord to live an upright and godly live in Jesus name.
AMEN.
