THE ALMIGHTY
There is no controversy regarding the capacity of Almighty God to save His People.

Despite these Attributes of God, He seems QUIET and oppressors are allowed to operate for a while!
WHY GOD SEEMS QUIET?
1. Divine Timing
God intervenes at the APPROPRIATE TIME based on the Calendar of heaven.

3. Chastening is allowed by God to achieve refining of His people (Heb. 12:11)

Psalms 22:1-3 recorded the cry of Jesus on the cross.
The Father allowed His only Begotten Son to be crucified!

1 Corinthians 2:8 confirms that God defeated Satan through the death of Jesus!
WHAT TO DO?
How do we respond when it seems Almighty God is silent?

Jeremiah 32:17 confirms that Our Lord made the Heaven and the Earth by His Power and His Outstretched Arm and there is, “NOTHING IS TOO DIFFICULT FOR HIM”

Thoughts on Psalm chapter 11

I trust in the Lord for protection. So why do you say to me, “Fly like a bird to the mountains for safety!
Today’s short reading is the first of the Psalms of Trust. In it David outlines reasons to trust in the Lord.
Believers living in these perilious times can relate to these reasons which are not far fetched – the wicked are determined in perpetuating evil, which in most cases are targeted at the righteous (those saved by grace through faith in Christ’s name).
In our country, we hear repeatedly stories of people kidnapped and killed by bandits or terrorised for the sheer reason that they profess the name of Christ, irrespective of attempts to change the narrative. A Christian today is an endangered species openly and also in secret, as *The wicked are stringing their bows and fitting their arrows on the bowstrings. They shoot from the shadows at those who are upright in heart* (vs 2).
More than ever before, believers need God as a trust, and a refuge. His eyes still BEHOLDS, and no schemes of the wicked can pluck us from His hands, if we remain in Him. Halleluyah!
THOUGHTS ON PSALM 12
INTRODUCTION
Psalm 12 is a passionate appeal from David to God for intervention amidst a society full of deceit and wickedness. It is a prayerful reflection on the fragility of truth and righteousness in a world consumed by deceit, falsehood, and arrogance. This psalm beautifully captures David’s faith and hope in God’s promise to provide a refuge for the oppressed, even when surrounded by lies and corruption.

PRAYER
Dear Father, I ask you for wisdom to discern truth from falsehood in daily life. I seek your help to live a life of honesty and integrity, reflecting your character. REFLECTIONS ON PSALM 13
INTRODUCTION
Psalm 13, a heartfelt cry from a state of anguish to an expression of unwavering faith, provides us a profound glimpse into the deep relationship between a servant and his divine Master. It begins with a fervent lamentation, transitions into a plea for God’s intervention, and culminates in an expression of unwavering trust and jubilant praise for God’s unfailing love and deliverance.
From Lament to Praise: A Pattern
Many psalms end with gratitude even when circumstances have not changed Psalm 42, 57). David teaches worshipers to remember proven mercy (“He has been good”) as an anchor in present woes.
Messianic Echoes
Jesus, facing abandonment and foes, embodies the psalm’s trajectory: anguish in Gethsemane Mk 14:34, a plea for deliverance Heb 5:7, and triumph in resurrection praise Heb 2:12. The reference to enemies rejoicing anticipates the mockery around the cross Matt 27:41.

PSALM. 14
THEME
” _The Folly of Rejecting God and the Hope of His Salvation”_
Psalm 14 contrasts the life of those who ignore God with those who trust Him. David paints a sobering picture of a world corrupted by sin, yet he ends with a hopeful expectation that God will rescue His people. The psalm reminds us that true wisdom begins with acknowledging God, while rejecting Him leads to moral decay and spiritual emptiness.

REVIEW
David begins by describing the fool—not necessarily someone who lacks intelligence, but someone who deliberately chooses to live as though God does not exist or does not matter. Such a mindset eventually affects one’s character, decisions, and relationships.
God looks down from heaven, searching for people who seek Him sincerely. Sadly, He finds that humanity has wandered from His ways. Sin is presented as a universal problem, reminding us that no one can claim righteousness on their own.
The psalm also highlights how the wicked oppress God’s people without realizing that God stands with the righteous. Though evil may appear strong for a season, God remains the refuge and defender of those who trust Him.
David closes with a heartfelt longing for God’s salvation and restoration. Even in the midst of widespread wickedness, hope remains because God has the final word.
Reflection
Psalm 14 challenges us to examine not only what we say about God, but how we live, by a life that seeks. God’s guidance, values His truth, and reflects His character. Building faith and trust on the eternal truth that God has made a way of escape – through Jesus Christ Our Lord , the hope of our Salvation .

PRAYER
Heavenly Father,
Search my heart and remove every attitude that does not please You. Create in me a deeper desire to seek You wholeheartedly and to walk in righteousness every day.

My Thought
In a world where many people live as though God is irrelevant, Psalm 14 gently calls us to be different—to seek Him daily, trust His guidance, and remember that even when evil seems to prosper, God has not lost control. The final note of the psalm is not despair but hope. Those who belong to God can face the future with confidence because their salvation and restoration are secure in Him.
THOUGHTS ON PSALMS 15
THEME :
ABIDING IN GOD’S PRESENCE AND REFLECTING HIS CHARACTER
MAIN VERSE:
Psalm 15:1
“LORD, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill?”

Psalm 15, just 5 verses but loaded.
It begins with one of life’s greatest questions: Who can dwell in the presence of a holy GOD?
David then lists ten qualities that describe the life of the one who abides with GOD. These qualities—integrity, truthfulness, justice, faithfulness, compassion, and purity—are not merely moral ideals; they reflect GOD’s own character.
David understood that GOD’s presence is not simply a place to visit but the environment where lives are transformed. This explains his repeated longing across the books of Psalms, to dwell in GOD’s presence and delight in HIS Word.
As we behold GOD by abiding in HIS word and fellowship, HIS character is gradually formed in us. Like Moses, who reflected GOD’s glory after being with HIM, believers are changed as they remain in fellowship with the LORD.
Psalm 15, therefore, points beyond human effort. Left to ourselves, none of us perfectly reflects GOD’s character.
Man was given just one thing not to do in Eden. He failed. The 10 commandments? man failed too. Is it these 10 qualities that he won’t still fail. Try as much as he would, man will fail in meeting GOD’ standard.
So, Ps15 is not a call to try harder to meet these standards, but a subtle realization of our helplessness before HIS standards. This helplessness is supposed to make us run to GOD for grace, which is found in CHRIST. Through Christ, we are welcomed into GOD’s presence, and through the HOLY SPIRIT, we are progressively transformed into HIS likeness. The more we abide in Him, the more His life is seen in ours until our conduct increasingly reflects the GOD we worship.
While David describes the character of the one who dwells with GOD, Paul explains how that character is produced:
“For it is GOD which worketh in you both to will and to do of HIS good pleasure.” Phil 2:14
We don’t grit our teeth and manufacture GOD’s character. As we abide in Him, GOD works in us—shaping both our desires and our actions. Our responsibility is to yield, obey, and cooperate with HIS work and the outcome is a reflection of HIS glory, bringing out these 10 characters in us.

THOUGHTS ON PSALM CHAPTER SIXTEEN.
THEME: Ultimate Satisfaction, Security and Joy Found in God Alone.
This Psalm is a miktam (a precious or a golden psalm) of David expressing profound trust , satisfaction and joy in God as the ultimate Refuge and reward.
David declares that God is his portion and inheritance, looks to Him for daily guidance and rejoices in the secure hope of triumph over death, which ultimately serves as a Messianic prophecy of Jesus’ resurrection.

Deuteronomy 32 verse 10 recorded God’s affection referring to His people as “The Apple of His Eye”
This “STATUS” committed God to love and protect us supernaturally!

Thoughts on Psalms chapter 18
KEY VERSE
Psalms 18:2 NKJV
“The Lord is my rock and my fortress and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My shield and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold”
Psalm 18 is a song of deliverance sang by David to the Lord on the day the Lord rescued him from ALL his enemies and from Saul, his relentless pursuer.
The psalm bears a close semblance to 2 Samuel 22.
In it, we come to terms with God’s limitless protection of His people, which can take many forms to give us confidence that when in need of protection, we can look to God.
David characterised God’s protection with 8 symbols to drive this home to us.
1. A ROCK – an immovable foundation that can’t be shaken.
2. A FORTRESS – a place of safety where the enemy cannot follow.
3. A DELIVERER – who causes one to escape.
4. GOD – The Almighty, The Strong One, Omnipotent who performs all things for His people.
5. STRENGTH – depicting firmness.
6. SHIELD/BUCKLER – Defender. God covers the head and heart so that neither is wounded by the dart of the enemy
7. THE HORN OF SALVATION – horns are frequently used in scripture as a symbol of power, hence this means God has the strength and power to save.
8. HIGH TOWER/A Stronghold – signifies a place so high as to be out of danger.
Brethren, we are not helpless. The Psalmist in verse 6 made two recommendations on what to do when we are in distress, when troubles like many waters threaten to drown us.
1. Pray – call upon the Lord.
2. Be desperate – cry unto God.
Verses 7 to 20 outlines ten material Manifestations of God, and 25 Personal Manifestations of God which produced the answer to such prayer and desperation.
God doesn’t promise to eliminate challenges instead, He promises to give us strength to meet them. He does not leave us alone, He stands beside us, teaches us, and strengthens us to face every challenge.
When you feel as though you are drowning in troubles, ask God to help you, hold you steady and protect you. In His care, we are never helpless. Halleluyah.
