Psalm 29 presents one of the most majestic pictures of GOD’s voice in all of Scripture. Seven times David declares, “The voice of the LORD…”, revealing a voice that is powerful, majestic, glorious, authoritative, and irresistible.
It is the voice that thunders over the waters, breaks the cedars of Lebanon, shakes the wilderness, and strips the forests bare. Nature itself responds to the command of its Creator.
After describing the overwhelming power of GOD’s voice, David declares,
“The LORD sitteth upon the flood; yea, the LORD sitteth King for ever.”
This psalms points us to the throne of GOD.
The floods may rage, nations may tremble, and life’s storms may threaten, but GOD’s throne remains unshaken. That is the climax in this psalms – GOD is in full control, no matter what
Vs 2 says, Give unto the LORD glory and strength.”
We obviously cannot give GOD strength. Rather this verse means to acknowledge HIS strength.
It’s like asking a rhetoric question:
“How much strength does GOD have?”
The answer comes after that verse
– Enough to thunder over the waters… Enough to break the cedars
– Enough to shake the wilderness
– Enough to reign over every flood.
– .. And still enough left to strengthen every believer as in vs 11
“The LORD will give strength unto HIS people.”
Only the One to whom all strength belongs can truly give strength away.
This psalm ends, not with thunder, but with an assurance- The same voice that commands creation also comforts HIS people, revealing that HIS power is never separated from HIS fatherly care.
TAKEAWAY
– If GOD’s voice can break cedars… If GOD’s voice can shake mountains… If GOD’s voice can command oceans… Then, surely HIS voice is greater than the storm I’m facing.
– The GOD whose voice commands creation is the same GOD who hears the cry of HIS children; therefore, when overwhelmed, our safest response is to wait quietly upon the LORD, knowing that the One who rules the storm also rules our circumstances.”
GOD’s voice is both powerful and purposeful.
– GOD’s throne is never threatened by earthly chaos.
– Those who hear and obey HIS voice receive HIS strength and peace.

1. May HIS voice be louder than every fear, every distraction, every uncertainty, and every competing voice in our lives
2. And may the King who “sitteth upon the flood” sit enthroned over every matter concerning us today.
3. Dear LORD, tune my heart to recognize and obey YOUR voice above every competing voice.

THOUGHTS ON PSALM CHAPTER THIRTY.
THEME : Thanksgiving and Gratitude to God for Turnaround and Deliverance from Deep Distress, Sickness, or Near-death Experiences.
Psalm 30 is a hymn of thanksgiving written by King David for the dedication of his house.
It celebrates God’s rescue from a near-death experience or deep crisis. The psalm shifts from past distress and human pride to desperate prayer ending in joyful praise and the famous comfort that weeping lasts for a night, but joy comes in the morning!

REFLECTIONS ON PSALMS 31
Psalms Chapter THIRTY-ONE confirms the Lord as “A FORTRESS OF DEFENCE” in times of adversity.

TROUBLES
Brethren, we experience various forms of ADVERSITY as profoundly aserted by Job: “Man who is born of woman is of few days and full of trouble” (Job 14:1)
The Good News is: God is able to RESCUE US ALL from : Enemies/Adversaries, Persecutors and Evil
1. Enemies/Adversaries
Brethren, Even, Almighty God has Satan as “Chief adversary” – Hence, we All have enemies!
GOOD NEWS
We have “Authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall hurt you”
2. Persecution
Christianity is CONTRARY to political and cultural order in many societies hence PERSECUTION is constant!
GOOD NEWS
Almighty God helps the persecuted by supernatural deliverance like Daniel from the Lion’s Den and/or the FAITH & STRENGTH to endure the persecution.
3. Evil
GOOD NEWS
Our God is able to “deliver us from evil”
(Matthew 6: 9-13)
THEREFORE, Irrespective of the source and scope of the trouble, Jehovah is able!
The Psalmist recognised the Attributes of God and CAPACITY in diverse ways:

THOUGHTS ON PSALM 32- JOY OF FORGIVENESS
Psalms 32:1 AMP
Blessed [fortunate, prosperous, favored by God] is he whose transgression is forgiven, And whose sin is covered.

Blessed is the man to whom the Lord does not impute iniquity, And in whose spirit there is no deceit.

But to him who does not work but believes on Him who justifies the ungodly, his faith is accounted for righteousness,
Sometimes we celebrate the additional things promised by Jesus to those who seek Him (Matthew 6:33) more than we do forgiveness.
We cheer when someone shares a testimony of provision, breakthroughs and divine interventions—but we often overlook the miracle of a heart being made new when one who once lived in sin comes forward to give his life to Jesus. Our reading today gives focus to the joy of forgiveness.
The Lord Jesus Christ came not just to fix what’s broken on the outside, but to restore what’s broken on the inside. Thus, forgiveness is the foundation of every other blessing.
In verse 2 highlighted above, imputation is the act of God in salvation whereby He counts the believer righteous in Christ (justified), because God’s terms of reconciliation with man was met by Christ (1 Jn 2:2) who bore their sins.
Redemption cannot become effective until one repents and continues in the truth.
Verse 5 of the reading highlights actions that leads a sinner to salvation;
– acknowledge the sins, do not hide them
– confess them to the Lord,
– receive His forgiveness
One forgiven of past sins must quit sinning and live no longer conforming to the world. The next critical step is the process of transformation. Day by day as we become acquainted with the word of God, the mind is renewed and His Spirit is then able to instruct, lead and guide us in the way that we should go.
Call To Action
Unconfessed sins result in physical and emotional repercussions (vs 3). If the Spirit of God is prompting you or drawing attention to any area in your life where you need to make things right with God, be responsive, do not allow your heart to become hardened, that is the time to pray to Him in a time when He may be found…
REFLECTIONS ON PSALM 33
Introduction
Psalm 33 is an uplifting passage that encourages believers to trust in the unwavering love and providence of God. It is a hymn of praise, acknowledging God’s creation, power, and omniscience.
It serves as a comforting reminder of the hope found in God’s love, urging believers to place their trust in Him.
Christ-Centered Perspective
Jesus embodies the creative Word (Jn 1:3), the unfailing plan (Eph 1:10-11), and the true King who needs no earthly army (Jn 18:36). In Him our souls “wait” and find all the covenant promises “Yes and Amen” (2 Cor 1:20).

THEME- The right to Petition and Solicit God’s Intervention.

REVIEW
Psalm 35 is David’s heartfelt prayer when he was being falsely accused, opposed, and treated unjustly. Instead of taking revenge, David appealed to God as his Defender and Judge. It reminds us that when people misunderstand or fight against us, we can place our battles in God’s hands.
REFLECTION
There are times when we feel hurt because of false accusations, betrayal, or unfair treatment. Psalm 35 teaches us not to allow bitterness to control us.
Pray and remain truthful, keep your peace, and let God handle what is beyond your control. I have come to know God as My Defender and Deliverer. There is always great comfort knowing this truth.
