Table of Contents

Today, we study 2 Chronicles 33 where King Manasseh received the MERCY of God.

The Pertinent Principle for us today is that God is MERCIFUL.

Theme:

it is of the lord’s mercies that we are not consumed”

Key Scripture

2 Chronicles 33:12-13

“Now when he was in affliction, he implored the Lord his God, and humbled himself greatly before the God of his fathers and prayed to Him; and He received his entreaty…and brought him back to his Kingdom”

Scriptures

2 Chronicles 33:12-13

Psalms 57:10

Lamentations 3:23

Psalms 89: 1- 3

Romans 6:1-2

Proverbs 13:15

2 Chronicles 33:22-23

Genesis 16 :3-9

Isaiah 59:1-2

2 Samuel 12:10

Psalms 51: 10-12

Reflection One

“Manasseh Restored After Repentance”

What a God of Mercy we serve !

Usually, when we go astray, affliction visits!

BUT, there is a U – Turn Sign and an opportunity to ASK for MERCY.

Of course He is Faithful and Just to Forgive based on the finished work of the Cross.

Hence, when King Manasseh repented, humbled himself and asked for MERCY – He was “BROUGHT BACK TO JERUSALEM INTO HIS KINGDOM”

(2 Chronicles 33: 13)

HALLELUJAH!

Almighty God restores!

The Psalmist submits that “HIS MERCY REACHES UNTO THE HEAVENS”

(Psalms 57:10)

Do Not Forget

IT IS OF THE LORD MERCIES THAT WR ARE NOT CONSUMED – Great is HIS Faithfulness

Therefore, we shall sing of His Mercies FOREVER. Amen.

(Psalms 89:1)

Reflection Two

“The Way of The Transgressor is Hard”

Brethren, “Shall we continue in sin that grace may abound? Certainly Not!!

God is MERCIFUL, yet SIN has consequences!

Sadly, some consequences of sin have impact across generations.

A hefty price to pay – No doubt, the way of the Transgressor is HARD!

(Proverbs 13:15)

Sin has NEGATIVE Side Effects such as:

1. Copy Cat Iniquities

More often than not, offsprings, children and family members FOLLOW Examples of “Fathers”and “Leaders” hence REPEATING the Iniquities!

This was the case of King Amon, son of King Manasseh who also “sacrificed to ALL carved images which his father Manasseh had made, and served them” and Amon ” TRESPASSED MORE & MORE”

(2 Chronicles 33:22-23)

Sadly, Amon DID NOT REPENT, hence despised MERCY.

Consequently, his days were cut short!

Amon lasted ONLY TWO YEARS compared to FIFTY FIVE YEARS that King Manasseh reigned in Judah!

2. Eternal Regrets

According to Genesis 16:3-9, Mummy Sarah offered her Egyptian maidservant, Hagar to Father Abraham!

Ever since this ERROR, the world has Not been the same AGAIN

We Must Avoid Eternal REGRETS

3. Separation From God

The Bible asserts that

“the Lord’s hand is NOT shortened, that it cannot save; Nor His ear heavy That it cannot hear. BUT our INIQUITIES have separated us from Our God”( Isaiah 59:1)

SIN SEPARATES FROM A HOLY GOD!

4. CURSES AT WORK!

A casual encounter of King David with Lady Bathsheba precipitated a CURSE!

The Sword did Not depart from the Household of Kind David for the murder of Uriah according to the Word of Prophet Nathan!!

(2 Samuel 12:10)

May God keep us from UNFORCED ERRORS in Jesus Name. Amen.

Prayers

1. Father, we pray that You create in us a New and Right Spirit. Amen

2. Father, we pray that You “RESTORE to us THE JOY OF YOUR SALVATION” Amen

( Psalms 51:10-12)

3. Father by Your Mercy, we decree that the hand and plans of the enemy shall not prevail over our lives In the Name of Jesus. Amen.
