Sin – Part 1
TEXT: 📖📖 Numbers 25:1-9, Romans 3:23
Proverbs 14:34 Righteousness exalts a nation: but sin is a reproach to any people.
Sin: Any form of disobedience against the Word or purposes of God.
Praise God! You are welcome to the second day of the 21 days fasting and prayers. Today, we will be looking at sin as an enemy of glory.
God created man with a measure of glory and honour (Psalm 8:4-6). This made man to have dominion and be in control of all creation. Man was clothed with glory until they disobeyed the commandment of God.
Sin brings about removal of glory in man’s life.
Case Study Of The Children Of Israel: (Num. 25:1-3)
Numbers 25:1 And Israel abode in Shittim, and the people began to commit whoredom with the daughters of Moab.25:2 And they called the people unto the sacrifices of their gods: and the people did eat, and bowed down to their gods.25:3 And Israel joined himself unto Baalpeor: and the anger of the LORD was kindled against Israel.
The Israelites were enjoying the full glory of God, which gave them full protection from their enemies. God did not permit Balaam to curse the Israelites because as at that time they had not gone into sin.
Evil was far away from them, until they went into the sin of idolatry and fornication or adultery with the daughters of Moab.
Sin has the capacity to contend with the glory of God in our lives and make us vulnerable to the attacks or assault of the enemies.
The first step to overcoming the enemies of glory called sin is total repentance from sin.
According to Proverbs 28:13 “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.”
Therefore, we shall cry to God for mercy and forgiveness of sin for ourselves and on behalf of our Nation and Ministry.
The Lord shall deliver us from the deceitful nature of sin, in Jesus name.
Prayers:
🙏🙏 Father, we obtain mercy from You in any way we have fallen short of your glory, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
🙏🙏 Father, help us not to lose Your glory. By Your mercy, let there be a restoration of every glory we lost in the past, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
🙏🙏 Father, purge us with the precious blood of Your Son, Jesus Christ from every pollution and defilement of sin that are standing against Your glory in our lives, in Jesus’ name.
🙏🙏 Father, take away every reproach in our lives by your mercy, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
🙏🙏 Oh Lord have mercy upon Nigeria, in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
🙏🙏 Father, grant me grace to live above sin. Sin shall not have dominion over me, in Jesus’ name.
🙏🙏 Confess all known sins, and thank God for forgiveness.
