Matthew 24: 21

Daniel 12: 1
Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever. Blessed is the one who waits for and reaches the end.
Chapter 12 is a continuation of the events from chapter 1, building up to chapter 12.
At the end, it reveals that GOD indeed is omnipotent and in full control of the affairs on earth and in heaven.
Israel, GOD’s own people were in captivity in an idolatrous nation, and all hopes of deliverance appeared gone.
Moreso when the date of the prophecy of the end of their captivity has expired by 3 years. Daniel believed in that prophecy and decided to seek GOD’s face in prayers and fasting concerning this.
It was in this spiritual exercise that he received so much revelation on:
1. The end times and times of unprecedented distress
2. Archangel’s Micheal’s protection of the faithful during the times of trouble. This shows that even in times of intense global or personal trials, the LORD will never abandon HIS own. HE will ensure they receive divine intervention
3. The Resurrection: Making us know that life does not end in death. Everyone will rise again, either to eternal life or eternal condemnation. It is a choice
4. Endurance and the reward of the wise: This shows that those that lead people to CHRIST will receive an eternal reward, which is an encouragement to soul winning and teachers. Though it tarries, we are encouraged to endure until the very end
5. Sealed prophecy and time lines: Even in the midst of information explosion and globalization, there are still some prophecies that are yet not fully revealed because they have timelines.
Take Away
A cursory look at the world, things may appear as if the wicked is lauding it over the righteous. Just as it was in the times of Daniel.
Evil seems to thrive over righteousness. However, from this chapter 12, we have a glimpse of the future and are reassured that GOD is in absolute control, working every situation from beginning to the very end according to HIS divine purpose.
Evil can never win over righteousness. GOD has scripted it so. It is written.
At the end, rewards and punishments will be meted appropriately.
We are encouraged to have hope even in times of hardship by trusting in GOD’s ultimate justice.
