Thoughts On Daniel 6.
THEME: The Sovereignty of God and the Triumph of Faith in the Face of Persecution and Opposition.
This chapter tells the story of Daniel who is promoted by King Darius and then becomes a target of envy.
His rivals trick the king into making a law that prohibits praying to any god but the king for thirty days which was a threat to Daniel’s faith.
Daniel, determines to remain faithful to God, prays as usual, three times a day and was subsequently thrown into the lions’ den. Miraculously, he survives the night and the king, recognizing God’s power, throws Daniel’s enemies and their families into the den of lions where they are all devoured.
LESSONS
Daniel had an unwavering faith in his God at the face of persecution.
Daniel was persistent in his prayer to God.
He chose to obey God rather than men.
God’s name was glorified through Daniel’s obedience.
PRAYER
Thank You Father for the gift of men like Daniel!
Oh Father, help all of us Your children in this present world to manifest our sonship like Daniel did to our generations in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
Thank You Jesus!
THOUGHTS ON DANIEL 7
Today, we study the Book of Daniel Chapter Seven, where Daniel’s dreams of the FOUR BEASTS were recorded.
This vision pointed to POWERFUL KINGDOMS in the world system.
Historically, the world had witnessed the rise and fall of empires such as BABYLON, THE MEDE-PERSIAN & THE ROMAN EMPIRES.
The final fulfilment of the vision is that the SON OF MAN will rule.
Hallelujah!!
REFLECTION:
“THE ONLY EVERLASTING KINGDOM”
Key Scripture
“And I watched till thrones were put in place, And the Ancient of Days was seated;
His garment was white as snow, and the hair of His head was like pure wool.” (Daniel 7:9)
LESSONS
Visions & Dreams.
What a privilege that Almighty God counts us worthy to “REVEAL” Divine plans to mere mortals through dreams and visions.
THANK YOU LORD FOR COUNSEL &
INSTRUCTIONS IN THE NIGHT SEASONS
(Psalms 16:7)
Eternal God
Empires shall rise and fall while Our God is ETERNAL!
Yes, the Lord has been our dwelling place in all generations – FROM EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING – He remains the ONLY EVERLASTING KING.
(Psalms 90: 1-2)
The Son of Man
Daniel 7: 14 prophesied that the Son of Man was has been given Dominion & Glory and a Kingdom, which “SHALL NOT BE DESTROYED”
CONCLUSION
The good news is that as kingdoms displace others, the Bible asserts that “THE KINGDOMS OF THIS WORLD HAVE BECOME THE KINGDOMS OF OUR LORD AND OF HIS CHRIST” (Rev 11:15)
He reigns FOREVER.
PRAYER
Father, we pray for the grace to endure to the end so that we shall REIGN with JESUS in HIS KINGDOM. Amen.
