Thoughts On Ezekiel 11

Ezekiel 11: 1 – 2,4
Then the Spirit lifted me up and brought me to the gate of the house of the LORD that faces east. There at the entrance of the gate were twenty-five men, and I saw among them Jaazaniah son of Azzur and Pelatiah son of Benaiah, leaders of the people.
The LORD said to me, “Son of man, these are the men who are plotting evil and giving wicked advice in this city.
Therefore prophesy against them; prophesy, son of man.
Jeremiah 23:12
“Woe to the shepherds who are destroying and scattering the sheep of my pasture!” declares the LORD. “Both prophet and priest are godless; even in my temple I find their wickedness,” declares the LORD.
Ezekiel 11: 17 – 21
“Therefore say: ‘This is what the Sovereign LORD says: Although I sent them far away among the nations and scattered them among the countries, yet for a little while I have been a sanctuary for them in the countries where they have gone.’ I will give them an undivided heart and put a new spirit in them; I will remove from them their heart of stone and give them a heart of flesh.
Then they will follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws. They will be my people, and I will be their God. But as for those whose hearts are devoted to their vile images and detestable idols, I will bring down on their own heads what they have done, declares the Sovereign Lord.”
For I will attack the children of Israel and Judah like a lion. I, myself will tear them to pieces and then leave them.When i drag them off, no one will be able to save them. Then, i will return to my place, until they admit their guilt and in their misery they will earnestly seek me.”
We can see two major themes in this chapter. Namely:
1. Judgement on corrupt leaders
Jeremiah identified 25 church leaders who were deceiving the people. No matter how pious they may appear,GOD who sees the hearts of men, and knows them.
The points to note here:
– Despite their pious exterior, GOD knows the heart of men.
– We must follow GOD, not men because when GOD’s judgement comes, it will fall on both the deceiver and the deceived
2. Promise of restoration
Despite GOD’s judgment on the sin of HIS people, HIS plans for them include restoration and a future of hope. GOD loves HIS own with everlasting love, and even though HE will surely punish them for their sins because HE is a righteous Judge, yet even in their punishment, he makes a way for them to repent. And as many that repents, HE will restore.
Take Away
• Undoubtedly, God sees and judges corrupt leadership.
• God’s presence departs when sin reigns, but He restores those who return to Him.
. Even in judgment, God offers restoration to the repentant.
• A transformed heart is key to walking with GOD and HE is the one that will do it for us by the coming of the HOLY SPIRIT upon us.
Prayers
Please GOD help us to keep our eyes on you and not on men. When we fail you oh LORD, have mercy on us and change us so that we can walk with you in the mighty name of JESUS, Amen.

A Word Of Prophecy For Today.
No More Delay!
All the dramatization of God’s word performed by Ezekiel in this chapter was just to drive home his points in his prophecy and to emphasize the certainty of God’s Word to the Children of Israel. It was just to let them know the prophecy of the impending doom!
In verses 23-28, God assures the people that His words from the mouth of His Prophet Ezekiel will not be prolonged any more but shall be done very soon!
The Prophecy
In verse 28, People of God, as God spoke to His people in those days, He is speaking to us today and now!
“Therefore, say unto them, ‘Thus saith the Lord GOD; There shall none of my words be prolonged anymore but the word which I have spoken shall be done’ saith the LORD GOD!”
Brethren, Now is the Time for All the Glorious Promises of God to be Made Manifest in our Lives!
