Reflections On Ezekiel 34

Today, we study the Book of Ezekiel Chapter 34,where the Lord rebuked “IRRESPONSIBLE SHEPHERDS”

Reflection:

We Need Responsible Shepherds & Leaders

Key Scripture

“Thus says the Lord God to the shepherds: “Woe to the shepherd of Israel who feed themselves! Should not the SHEPHERDS feed the flocks?

(Ezekiel 34:2)

The Lord has Gus Jod Description as well as Key Performance Indices and expectations of shepherds and leaders.

These include:

1. Feeding the flocks

2. Strengthen the weak

3. Healing the sick

4. Seeking the lost.

Are We Meeting Up?

The poor performance of shepherds is unacceptable to God and therefore the divine rebuke in the Book of Ezekiel, chapter 34.

Lessons

1. The Lord is jealous over His Sheep.

2. The Lord, JESUS is both the GOOD and the GREAT Shepherd.

3. As The Good Shepherd, JESUS laid down His Life for the sheep.

(John 10: 11)

4. As The GREAT SHEPHERD, JESUS makes His people COMPLETE.

(Hebrews 13: 20-21)

5. Being a Shepherd/ Leader is a SERIOUS ASSIGNMENT.

Conclusion

For the sake of the sheep, the Lord keeps the shepherds from being stricken by the evil one.

(Zechariah 13:7)

Prayer

Father, we thank you for JESUS, our Good, Righteous, Great and Chief shepherd.

We pray that You grant us the grace to be RESPONSIBLE and DUTIFUL LEADERS LIKE OUR LORD, JESUS CHRIST. Amen
