THOUGHTS ON ISAIAH 36

WHOSE REPORT DO YOU BELIEVE?

Then Eliakim, son of Hilkiah, the palace administrator, Shebna, the secretary, and Joah, son of Asaph, the recorder went to Hezekiah, with their clothes torn, and told him what the field commander had said. Isaiah 36: 22

The great king of Assyria, who has defeated all the nations round about, had his eyes set on Judah, and who can stop him?
He wanted Judah to surrender to him and he promised to relocate them to a place more beautiful than their own inheritance.
What was the response of the scribes and priest? They tore their clothes, a sign of brokenness before the LORD because they knew the battle belonged to tje LORD if only they could get HIM to fight on thrir side.
Despite the obvious fact that indeed the king of Assyria could do what he said he would do; his threats and intimidations were real. Just like the same old strategy that Goliath used against Israel, but David responded with his own strategy, knowing that the battle belonged to the LORD

What is our strategy when confronted with the threats and intimidations of the devil?

Take Away
The battle belongs to the LORD. Never look unto your own strength when the enemy bombards you with overwhelming challenges and tries to make you believe that the only way out is for you to compromise on your faith. Know that every obstacle/ hindrance/ problem/ challenge is not after you per se, but your faith. Be ever on your guard. Guard your faith Eph6:12
Prayer Point
Father. Help me when i am weak to lean on you alone.

REFLECTIONS ON ISAIAH  38

Today, we study the Book of Isaiah Chapter Thirty- Eight, where the life of King Hezekiah was extended.

“LIFE IS A GIFT FROM GOD- LET US PRAISE HIM CONTINUALLY.

Isaiah 38 is about Hezekiah’s sickness, recovery, and Thanksgiving.

Worthy of note is verse Nineteen of Isaiah chapter Thirty – Eight where the king submitted that “the living, the living man, he shall praise You, As I do this day:

LESSONS
1. Life is a GIFT from God

2. The Living is EXPECTED to praise Him

3. WHAT REASONS CAN WE OFFER TO CONTINUE LIVING?

Brethren, it is realistic to submit that Heaven considers some parameters to intervene in the affairs of men, such as giving of alms:

Examples include:

1.King David
2. King Hezekiah
3. Tabitha
4. Cornelius

Conclusion
Brethren, as King Hezekiah submitted, let us PRAISE the Lord continuously for:

1. His Mighty works
2. His Faithfulness
3. The Gift of Life
4. Divine blessings

PRAISE CONTINUALLY
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. (Ps 34:1)
Hallelujah!
