Thoughts On Isaiah 64
Hope In Waiting On The Lord
Isaiah 64: 4
Since ancient times no one has heard, no ear has perceived, no eye has seen any GOD besides you, who acts on behalf of those who wait for HIM.
Supporting Scriptures
Jeremiah 29:11
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
Isaiah 64:8
Yet you, LORD, are our Father. We are the clay. You are the potter; we are all the work of your hand.
This chapter tells us to trust in the LORD, especially when situations appear hopeless. We have fasted, prayed, confessed our sins, cried out to the LORD, and it appears ….. HE is silent.
This chapter reminds us of the present situation in Nigeria; the relentless attack on the church by boko haran, many brethren going through very tough times.
In all these, there is a sure assurance from the LORD who knows all things that HE has always had a plan for us to give us a better future, before even we were born.
As the bad times persist, let this knowledge be our prop and comfort that we will overcome, and we are more than conquerors even in these difficult times.
Take Away
The LORD cares for us at all times, even when it appears that all odds are against us. We should remember we are the clay in HIS loving hands, so we should never give up hope, but persist in the place of seeking HIS face and turning away from temptations.
Prayer Point
Thank you LORD for your love.
As i wait on you, dear LORD hasten to perform your promise
Grant me the grace to trust you till the end.
Isaiah 64:8 (NKJV)
“But now, O Lord, You are our Father; We are the clay, and You our potter; And all we are the work of Your hand.”
Isaiah 64 is a heartfelt prayer from the prophet Isaiah, expressing Israel’s deep longing for God’s intervention. The chapter highlights the people’s awareness of their sinfulness, their recognition of God’s sovereignty, and their plea for divine mercy and restoration.
Isaiah 64:8 acknowledges God’s authority and creative power over His people. It is a declaration of humility, dependence, and trust in God’s ability to shape and mold His people according to His divine purpose. This verse emphasizes:
God as our Father – A loving, guiding, and disciplining force.
The Potter-Clay Metaphor – Demonstrating God’s control over our lives and our need to be moldable.
The Call to Humility and Trust– Encouraging believers to embrace God’s shaping process, even when it is challenging.
Isaiah 64:8 is a beautiful reminder of God’s loving authority over His people. It calls for humility, surrender, and trust in His transformative power.
Just as a potter molds clay into a beautiful vessel, God desires to shape our lives for His purpose and glory.

The Sins Of The Israelites:
Disobedience: The Israelites turned to pagan rituals such as sacrificing in gardens, eating swine and spending nights in tombs.

Verses 19 and 20 tell us that there will be no more voice of weeping and crying in the new world. People will live to their full old age. If any one dies at a hundred years old the person is still an infant.
Thanks to God because in God’s Kingdom, there will be no more Satan, no sin, no sickness and no death!
We will all be filled with joy unspeakable!

Reflections On Isaiah Chapter 66
Today, we study the Book of Isaiah Chapter Sixty-six where the Indignation of Almighty God against DISOBEDIENCE resulted in divine judgment by FIRE is emphasized.
Key Scripture
“For behold, the Lord will come with His chariots, like a whirlwind.
To render His anger with fury,
And His rebuke with flames of fire.
For by fire and by His sword, the Lord will judge all flesh;
And the slain of the Lord shall be many.
(Isaiah 66:15-16)
Reflections
“Fearful & Terrifying”
Brethren, the Bible has declared that “It is a FEARFUL and TERRIFYING thing to fall into the hands of the living God (incurring His judgment and wrath)
(Hebrews 10:31)
Eternity At Stake
My people, eternity is at stake!
The destination may be “PARADISE” OR “HELL”
The word “HADES” or “SHEOL” translated “HELL” in the Bible is found TEN TIMES in the New Testament and described as a place below the Earth.
Mark 9 : 47-48 decribed HE’LL FIRE as a place where “their worm does not die and the FIRE is not quenched”
Modern-day believers are not keen to consider the REALITY of hell.
John 3:18 confirms that: WHOEVER DOES NOT BELIEVE IS CONDEMNED ALREADY”
Revelation 21:8 mentioned that the “UNBELIEVING” are destined for the lake that burns with FIRE & and BRINSTONE, WHICH IS THE SECOND DEATH”
Conclusion
1. Hell is CERTAIN & REAL
2. Our God is a CONSUMING FIRE
What To Do
1. The time to seek the Lord is now.
2. Evangelism to save MANY from HELL is a MUST.
Prayers
1. Father, help us to prepare for Eternity.
2. Help us, Lord, to reach out to those yet to receive Jesus and bring them into YOUR KINGDOM. (Amen)
