Reflections On Psalm 75 & 76
Today, we study the Book of Psalms 75 & 76.
Psalm 75
Theme: Thanksgiving and praise to God.
This Psalm speaks of the Jews in exile giving thanks and praise to God for preserving their lives!
Verse 1, “Unto thee O God do we give thanks, unto thee do we give thanks: for that thy name is near thy wondrous works declare.
According to Charles Spurgeon, the horn is a symbol of honour and strength but when possessed by the arrogant, the horn is said to be “Cut down” or humbled.
Verse 2 says, “When I shall receive the congregation I will judge uprightly.”
People of God, how are we handling the work of God that is committed into our hands? Are we giving Him our best? Are we doing our best? Are we doing justice to the work of God and the congregation?
Verse 6 says, “For promotion cometh neither from the east nor from the west nor from the south.”
Verse 7, “But God is the judge: he puteth down one and setteth up another. ”
Simply put, promotion comes from God alone. He is the one who chooses whom He wants to promote.
The horns of the righteous shall be exalted. God’s work of judgment is not only against the proud and the wicked; it is also for the righteous. As surely as He will cut off the arrogant pride of the wicked, He will also exalt the strength of the righteous as seen in Verse 10.
Conclusion
People of God, let us give God our best while we can because in due season He will reward us.
He is the only One who rewards faithfulness accordingly.
Remember, promotion comes from God alone.
He who sees in secret will reward us openly!
PRAYER
– Father, thank You for we know that You are the Righteous Judge.
– Thank You Father because we know that by Your grace You will help us to do Your work faithfully so that our promotion will come from You quickly in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
Thank You Father!
Psalm 76
Theme:
“ALMIGHTY GOD – KNOWN TO HIS PEOPLE”
Key Scripture
Psalms 76:1
“God is KNOWN/ RENOWNED/ REVEALED in Judah”
Reflection
“Familiarity For Exploits”
Can we the people of God really KNOW The Almighty?
Yes, we can!
After all, the Bible affirms that “The people that know their God shall be strong and do EXPLOITS” (Dan. 11:32)
Ways To Know God
1. JESUS – THE WAY & THE TRUTH
Jesus has declared that “No One comes to the Father but by Me”
(John 14:6-7)
To know God, FIND JESUS!
2. THROUGH THE WORD
We learn about God from the Scriptures : By “hiding God’s WORD in our hearts. (Ps. 119:11)
3. WITNESS OF THE SPIRIT
We have The Holy Spirit!
“The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God”
(Romans 8:16)
4. NATURE & CREATON
Romans 1:20 testifies that by looking at what is visible in creation, we can know about God’s “INVISIBLE ATTRIBUTES”
5. FELLOWSHIP
For sure, best way to know a person is through INTIMACY & FELLOWSHIP.
Indeed, Almighty God desires FELLOWSHIP with us INDIVIDUALLY.
The Psalmist declared that: “In His presence, there is Fullness of Joy”
(Psalms 16:11)
It’s profitable to DWELL MORE IN HIS PRESENCE.
