Genesis 6-8 in view
As we journeyed into the sixth chapter of Genesis, we saw the earth was no longer the perfect paradise that God had intended. It is frightening to see how quickly humanity forgot about God, leading to God grieving over mankind as they chose sin and death instead of a relationship with Him.
Like Noah, we live in a world filled with evil. Noah presents a perfect example for us to follow as he pleased God and found favour in the eyes of the Lord in spite of sin that surrounded him.
Are we influencing others or being influenced by them?
God has not changed and He will not, no matter what the world paints of God’s character. He hates sin and judges those who enjoy it as we saw in the destruction by the flood.
Noah wholeheartedly loved and obeyed God, and became a living example to his generation. For him, obedience meant a long- term commitment to a project.(120years)
Many of us have trouble sticking to any project, whether or not it is directed by God. It is interesting that the length of Noah’s obedience was greater than the lifespan of people today.
Noah with his family and animals after their kind were shut in, into the Ark as the waters prevailed on the earth destroying every living thing which were on the face of the ground.
In chapter 8, God remembered Noah, and every living thing that were with him in the ark. He not only remembered, God also commanded a wind to pass over the earth so that the water subsided.
This wind is the same word used to describe the Spirit in Gen 1:2. After destruction, God re-creates, just as He created from chaos. Halleluyah.
May the Lord command His wind to blow over this nation and birth a new nation from the devastation of the past in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
