“…I will send thee to Jesse the Bethlehemite: for I have provided me a king among his sons.” (1 Samuel 16: 1).
In our Focal Scripture, God sent Samuel to Jesse the Bethlehemite. That mission culminated in the anointing of David as King. Jesse was in Bethlehem when Samuel located him and anointed his son to be King of Israel. ‘Bethlehem’ means ‘House of Bread’. So, Jesse was in the ‘House of Bread’ when God smiled on him.
In John 1 vs. 1, scriptures equate God with the Word; and while talking about Himself in John 6 vs. 35, Jesus said “I am the bread of life”. Bread is symbolic of God’s word; so Jesse was in an atmosphere of the word, and God located him and anointed his son as King. He remained in the place of the word, and God located him there.
Friend, God says, stay on the word. Keep feeding on God’s word; keep listening to God’s word; keep searching the scriptures for the word of life; stay in an atmosphere of God’s word; stay in the community of people who declare and confess God’s word; stay where there is an abundance of God’s word. Even if you have no miracle yet, hang on to the word.
Jesse remained in Bethlehem and in a matter of time, God located him, and a major miracle came to his household. If you remain in the place of the word, it is only a matter of time before God makes something big to happen in your life; if you stay hooked to the word, be sure that God will visit you and give you cause to smile.
If you abandon God’s word because it is yet to work for you, just maybe, God can’t locate you when He is ready for you. Remember, God located Jesse in Bethlehem; make God’s word your location, and God will locate you.
In John 6 vs. 35, Jesus says: “…I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.”

Lord, I will stay on Your word, in Jesus’ name!.
