“…say unto Ahab, Prepare thy chariot, and get thee down, that the rain stop thee not.” (1 Kings 18: 44).
When Elijah saw that it was about to rain, he advised Ahab to get ready and move before the rain stops him. The rain was an answer to the prayers and wishes of everyone in Israel. The rain was a long awaited blessing. So, Elijah simply advised Ahab to move and change location before other people’s blessings stop him.
Friend, if you don’t move, the rain might stop you. If you don’t make timely movements in life, people will receive blessings, and those blessings may backfire on you. If you don’t take timely steps in your career or business, or improve your skills and abilities, other people will stumble into God-given opportunities, and their prosperity may come at your expense.
The steps you fail to take will make you vulnerable, and take you closer to stagnation. The changes you should make that you fail to make will turn the tables against you when other people start reaping their harvest. It may be convenient to make no movement, but that convenience will be followed by the inconvenience of getting stuck at the wrong spot in life.
Guess what? If Ahab got stuck in the rain, the entire nation would still enjoy the rain from the comfort of their homes, and he would have suffered alone. Your failure to move won’t stop others from enjoying their ‘rain.
The rain won’t be postponed because you haven’t moved. Don’t sit back and allow other people’s blessings to stop you. Take timely steps; move when you should.
Ephesians 5 vs. 15 advises: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,”
Pray With Me:
Lord, I choose to move; other people’s blessings will not stop me, in Jesus’ name!.
