Thoughts On Exodus 11

“And the Lord said to Moses, “I will bring one more plague on Pharaoh and on Egypt. Afterward he will let you go from here. When he lets you go, he will surely drive you out of here altogether” Exodus 11:1

It is reassuring to read the chapter for today and meditate on the above verse in particular. In times like these, our hearts do no fail, but we are strong in hope that we have a sure Word of prophecy. In Exodus 3:7-8, the counsel of God concerning Israel was spoken to Moses. But as he got to Egypt, this probably looked far-fetched as Pharaoh stood in the way of its manifestation.

One would wonder how Pharaoh could be so foolish to see God’s miraculous power and still refuse to let God’s people go. But the truth is that Pharaoh had his mind made up long before the plagues began. Moses and Aaron had announced to him what God would do if he didn’t let the people go, but their message only made him stubborn and defied God. Through the first six plagues, Pharaoh’s heart grew even more stubborn. After the sixth plague, God passed judgement. It should be settled in our hearts that sooner or later, evil will be punished. When it became evident that Pharaoh wouldn’t change, God confirmed Pharaoh’s proud decision and set the painful consequences of his actions in motion.

In many nations of the world today, evil goes on unabated because the rulers have stubbornly refused to acknowledge the One who rules in the affairs of men. Like Pharaoh, they harden their hearts against God and relentlessly pursue their vain imaginations. But as written is Psalms 2:4, He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; The Lord shall hold them in derision.

May the Lord arise over our nation and bring an end to oppression and evil. As many devises are in the hearts of men, may only the counsel of the Lord over our Nation stand. We must never lose sight of who God is, by being careless with the things we say in times like these.

“God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? (Num 23:19)

With just one more plague, Pharaoh had no choice but to let God’s people go. Before Moses, God introduced Himself to the Patriarchs as the ALMIGHTY. But in Egypt, He showed Himself in another dimension as “I AM”, not I WAS, not I WILL BE….This is His name forever and by this name all generations are to remember Him(Exo 3:14-15).

May the I AM show Himself in a dimension we haven’t seen before over this nation and bring our captivity as a nation to an end in Jesus name. Amen 🙏
