RACAD John 17 Highlights

This Chapter Contains powerful prayers by Our Lord Jesus Christ, who was nearing the cross and heading into a serious suffering on the cross.

He took time to pray for himself and also prayed for His disciples and believers at large

Verse 1:

Christ begins by praying for Himself. His specific purpose was asking for God’s will to be done; which is always for His glory, Jesus also prayed for His followers.

A major focus of this chapter is Jesus’ High Priestly Prayers, making requests on behalf of Himself, the apostles, and future believers.

Verse 6:

I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word.

7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee.

8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

Jesus further gave summary report on all He has done and how His disciples and believers are faring.

Verse 12

While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

He further talked about the Son of partition that was lost for the scripture to be fulfilled.

Note: At one point or the other we will give report of the souls God has placed under us, hence, it’s important we guide them well ok areas they might need assistance.
