RACAD John 18 Highlights

John 18:10: Then Simon Peter having a sword drew it, and smote the high priest`s servant, and cut off his right ear. The servant`s name was Malchus.

We can see clearly how Peter was full of zeal, he felt his assignment was to protect the Master, despite being informed he would deny the Master he was the only one who went ahead with him.

When the master was to be arrested, Peter drew out his Sword cut someone ear, he showed them his assignment was protecting the Master.

Same Peter who showed himself to be a protector was ashamed of himself when he denied him thrice, then began to cry bitterly, which was his bitter cry which was known as his the Repentance of Peter.

Little did Peter know that he was fulfilling prophecy

Lessons:

We should not be too confident to rely on our strength because our strength won’t take us anywhere.

We should learn from Peter who after noticing his errors, he went back into repentance.
