And Elisha the prophet called one of the children of the prophets, and said unto him, Gird up thy loins, and take this box of oil in thine hand, and go to Ramothgilead:” (2 Kings 9: 1).
Our Focal Scripture reveals that Elisha ‘said’ some words to one of the sons of the prophets. One of the meanings of the word ‘said’ as used in that scripture is ‘to boast’. So, as Elisha spoke to the trainee prophet, he boasted. He spoke like one who was proud and confident in the ability of the trainee prophet.
That trainee prophet may have felt unqualified and unprepared for that assignment, but Elisha boasted about him. He may have felt he couldn’t do it, but Elisha felt he could do it. Prophets were God’s mouthpieces in Old Testament times; so, God was confident in the junior prophet.
Friend, you are God’s masterpiece, made in His image and empowered to fulfill every assignment that comes your way. God is already boasting about your abilities. You might think you are incapable or unqualified, but God thinks you are capable and qualified; you might think you can’t make some things happen, but God thinks you can make everything happen.
God does not see you through the assessment of men concerning you, or through the binoculars of your limitations, or what you don’t have. God sees you through His own eyes, and if He says you can make it, then you have what it takes to make it.
See yourself the way God sees you; if God is boasting about you, then do your best to justify His confidence in you. You are not what men say you are; you are who God says you are.
Ephesians 2 vs. 10 sums it up this way: “For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.”
Pray With Me:
Lord, I am who You say I am, I have abilities for endless possibilities, in Jesus’ name!
