2 KINGS 8
Here, one can see a theme of relationship, service, covenant, kindness, obedience, respect, honour and reward.
In this chapter, we can see that the woman who ministered to Elisha received a divine direction from him without asking. This is as a result of her relationship with him. She willingly decided to meet the need of the man of God without waiting for Him to ask her for help. She saw the need of the man of God and quickly responded.
This singular act of kindness delivered her and her household from destruction by famine. Not only that, it also gave her a national recognition.
The king showed her favour and restored all that she had before travelling out of the country due to famine for seven years. The king treated her case urgently.
Gehazi also had access to the king because he was a servant to Elisha the man of God.
Jehoram, the son of Jehoshaphat became the king of Judah. He did evil in the sight of God because he married king Ahab’s daughter. Ahab’s daughter infected him with the sin of her family.
In Verse 19, but because of the covenant God had with King David, “Yet the LORD would not destroy Judah for David His servant’s sake, as He promised him to give him alway a light and to his children. ”

4. Obedience is a key to victory, deliverance and success.
5. God restores completely, no matter how long the case may be.
Prayers
1. Father, help us to meet the needs of Your servants.
2. Father, connect us with the right people.
3. Father, restore everything we have lost over the years to us. As You used the king to restore everything to the woman in this chapter, Father, use even the kings of our own time to minister to us Your children in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
Thank You Father!
