Thoughts On Zechariah 1.
The book of Zachariah chapter one serves as an introduction and a call to repentance for the Israelites returning from exile. It emphasizes God’s anger with their ancestors’ disobedience and urges them to return to Him, promising restoration and a return to their land.
This chapter also includes a vision of red horses among myrtle trees and four horns representing powers that scattered Judah along with four carpenters who will challenge them, representing God’s protection and restoration.
Theme: A Call to Repentance and a Promise of Restoration.
Lessons
God’s mercy is inexhaustible!
Oh man, always remember to return to your creator with repentance no matter the scope of your transgressions; He will abundantly pardon you! He is always yearning for the sinner’s cry for mercy!
Our God is a Loving Father, full of compassion!
Prayer
Father, thank You for always being there for us!
Help us to love You in return more than this in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
Thank You Jesus.
Thoughts On Zechariah 2
Today, we study the Book of Zechariah chapter two, where the
promise of Jehovah to protect Jerusalem, His people, and the future church was revealed in a vision to Prophet Zachariah.
Reflections:
“The Apple of His Eye”
Key Scriptures
“For I, says the Lord, ‘will be a wall of fire all around her, and I will be the glory in her midst (Zachariah 2:5)”
“For thus says the Lord of hosts: Ge sent Me after glory, to the nations which plunder you; for he who touches you touches the apple of His eye”
(Zechariah 2:8)
Apple Of His Eye
Zechariah 2 verse 8 assures ISRAEL of God’s unwavering protection by referring to ZION as “the apple of His eye.”
Israel and the Church has the ASSURANCE that Jehovah will KEEP HIS PEOPLE by His Mighty Hand.
Surely He is able to hide them (His people) “under the shadow of your wings” (Ps. 17:8)
Lesson/evidence
(i) Divine Resources
Indeed, the host of Heaven, the innumerable company of angels, is capable of facilitating DIVINE PROTECTION!
Weapons of Believers
In addition, to enforce divine protection, the believer is well equipped with THREE WEAPONS:
1. The Name Of Jesus
Wherefore, God gave Him a Name above every other name
(Philippians 2:9)
2. The Word Of God
And the Word became flesh (John 1:14)
3. The Blood Of The Lamb
“And they overcame him by the blood of the lamb and by the word of their testimony”
(Revelations 12:11)
Thank you, Jesus, for Divine Protection and your covenant of peace.
Prayer
Father, we pray that the ROCK OF AGES will continuously keep and protect us from the WICKED & DEADLY ENEMIES in the Mighty Name of Jesus. Amen.
Zechariah 3:2 NKJV
And the Lord said to Satan, “The Lord rebuke you, Satan! The Lord who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Is this not a brand plucked from the fire?”
Whosoever has an ear must hear what the Spirit is saying to us in today’s chapter.
A brand plucked out of the fire – That is what you and I are. Though our accuser , the adversary, Satan, our opponent rails a thousand and one accusations against us, our Advocate, the One who chose us and knows what His thoughts are towards us (Jer 29:11), rebukes Satan and says we have been plucked out of the fire.
We may not yet be all that He has destined us to be, but we must never forget that God has a plan. He does not forget, like is common to men. God assures us that we are loved, chosen, and Redeemed, we are accepted. Faith in Him gave us the victory. We are a triumphant people. Halleluyah!
This truth is what apostle John captured in I John 3:2 NKJV saying…
“Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is”.
It must be settled in our hearts always, that God has saved us (our past is forgiven), is saving us (our present is in Him) and will save us (our future is secure), because we believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.
Knowing all these, then, what does the Lord expect from us?
Zechariah 3:6-7
1. We must WALK in His ways: there’s no way we can do this without increasing in our knowledge of God (1 Peter 3:17-18). We must free ourselves from encumberances, like Mary, the sister of Martha, did and got a commendation from the Lord in Lk 10:38-42. As we commit to learning of Him through His Word on a constant basis, we will be free from constant worry and anxiety
2. KEEP His command. Don’t stop at reading, meditating, or studying His Word if you already do.
Also, commit to doing. James 1:25 admonishes us not to be forgetful hearers, but doers of God’s word, which guarantees His blessing in all we do. Continuing in His word testifies of us as His disciples indeed.
In this month of “Abiding in Him” our work is cut out for us. The Lord Jesus spoke in Lk 12:32 that we should fear not, for it is our Father’s good pleasure to give us the kingdom.
He gave us permission to ask Him in Ps 2:8, and He will give us nations for our inheritance and the ends of the earth as our possession.
God is the constant, His years never end (Ps 102:27), but you and I are the variables. He has plucked us out, and we must ensure we are not thrown back into the fire. By Abiding in Him, through faith, we can quench every fire.
Resistance to change is an acceptance of mediocrity. The time is now to be all that God has ordained us to be. We must submit daily to the Holy Spirit and allow Him to guide us into every truth we need to know individually and collectively on this journey of faith.
Joshua was ministering in garments that were not holy or proper for high priests. His filthy garments were taken away, his iniquity was cleansed, and he was clothed with the proper garments.
As we await the Lord’s coming, may our garments be spotless, may we be presented as holy, blameless, and unashamed at His coming. Amen 🙏
