Colossians 1:13 “Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son”
The Delusion
As christians I have discovered that what we do usually is to take one truth out of the Word of God and go to the extreme end with it, but God wants us to be in the centre position, because we are in delusion, many believe that once a man gives his life to Christ, everything becomes rosy so such person just relaxes and expect everything to work out, but the truth is we are called to be both worshippers and warriors
The Divine Translation
Scripture tells us that we have been translated from the kingdom of darkness into the kingdom of God’s dear son but some of us are still living as if some part of our lives belong to the kingdom of darkness (Colossians 1:13)
The truth is when you were translated, everything about you was also translated into the kingdom of God; your health, finances, marriage and all that concerns you
It’s quite unfortunate that some Christians still apply worldly measures in dealing with certain issues in their lives
Many years ago, I had a terrible fever and it was so bad, everyone around me advised me to take appropriate medications, but I refused, because I believed God is able to heal all diseases including fever, moreover, my body is the temple of the Holy Ghost and if I am not giving my body to sin, then why should my body be attacked by fever?
So I put my hand on my head and said by the stripes of Jesus I am healed, and I prayed but the fever persisted, however, after a few days, the power of God’s healing came upon me and I got healed.
Component Of Eternal Life
Are you aware that the eternal life God gave to us comprised of all things? Life and godliness
For example, If you come in contact with a family where there’s an evil pattern ravaging the life of the family members, you should not be afraid, rather you must arise taking charge of the situation spiritually through prayers and commanding all satanic authority in control to bow to the Lordship of Christ Jesus
2Peter 3:1 “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to”
Be aware that the choice to live has been given to you, it is included in the eternal life that God gave (John 3:16, Psalm 91)
Why do Christians go through certain problems? The issue is that the devil often sets traps for us Christians and because we are not conscious and sensitive in the spirit , we carelessly walk into the traps of the enemy (1 Peter 5:8)
At a point in time, my mother in law was terribly sick and the Lord helped me to pray and death was averted however the devil set a trap for my wife and the Lord revealed it to me, but by the power of God she also overcame.
Don’t over spiritualize things as if you don’t have a role to play in the physical, we are called to be both worshippers and warriors, therefore you must wrestle against principalities and powers through fervent prayers.
Ephesians 6:12 “For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of [a]the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places”
The same way holy spirit enters you and the evil ones run away from you, is the same way devil enters into people and they carry him around boastfully, therefore you must be willing to be a warrior and not just a worshipper
As your knowledge of God and faith increases, you will be taken to higher realms in Christ, Paul was discouraged from going to Jerusalem but he was resolute and so he told them he’s ready to die (Acts 21:1-16)
God appeared to Paul eventually and told him he will surely appear before Ceaser, who is Ceaser? he is the representative of the ruling powers at that time. (Acts 27:24)
As christians we are soldiers called into battle and not comfort, and the extent to which you will win battles and have victory is determined by the extent to which you allow God dwell in you
Jesus was intended to bring down the Roman empire down, not suddenly but gradually through the people He has chosen to do this assignment;
Before the Roman empire could know what was happening, Christianity had eaten deep into the empire
To get an effective change you must go into the deep and start from there don’t start on the surface
In the old times, the light of God was not allowed to get to the poor, but through Christ, the poor were touched and their lives were changed
Hence, Jesus told the messenger from John the Baptist, “Go and tell John the things you have seen and heard: that the blind see, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, the poor have the gospel preached to them” Luke 7:22
There is no other change but through the grassroots, the poor must be reached to cause an effective change in the land
As Christians we are not called to be lazy christians, we are meant to first deal with personal demons, who try to influence our lives through evil thoughts, after then we must move to contending with principalities and powers
The more you allow God work in you the higher you will grow spiritually and the more authority you will have in spiritual things
The earlier we know that we are called into battle the best for us otherwise we will be swept away in the battle
We wrestle not against flesh and blood, so choose not to be a casualty of war, you are called into battle, fight!
Spiritual battles are real even if you don’t believe
However, you are not called to fight by your own strength, but you must realize that we are called to battle as Christians. For you to realize it is to live a victorious life and when there is a reaction from the devil, know that scripture has assured that we shall thread upon snakes and scorpions (Luke 10:19)
The more the people that realize this, the more formidable team we form against the devil.
Conclusion
In conclusion, arise in prayers, fasting and study of the Word Of God, do not mind just your own business, but pray also for others, this way we will all live victorious lives.
