Are you always angry? Do you often get offended by the actions of others? Do you usually get angry at the slightest provocation? Are you easily irritated by the actions of other people including your loved ones, you need to pray fervently against the spirit of anger
The Bible tells us that anger lies in the blossom of fools, (Ecclesiastes 7:9), this is not because anger in itself is entirely bad, in fact it’s an emotion expressed by everyone at some point, but it is what you do when you’re angry that makes the anger either sinful or normal, the Bible says be angry but sin not, drawing the line between been angry and choosing not to sin is the great deal, therefore you need to be proactive about overcoming your anger. So how can you be proactive with anger?
First, make up your mind to always think before you speak especially when you’re angry, weigh your words through your mind before letting them out, the bible encourages us to be quick to listen but slow to speak (James 1:19)
Also, ensure to make room for others in your heart, allow the love of God flow through you to others, choose to see the good in everyone even when offended, as hard as it may seem, the Bible instructs us to love everyone especially our enemies and this is what makes us stand out as believers from others
So as you choose to walk in love daily, let the Holy Spirit be the guide of all your decisions and not the actions of other people, that is do not allow others determine how you react, rather let the Holy Spirit dwell richly in you, that He may lead and direct you in all your ways, as you do this, you will gradually become more peaceful and not sin when angry
However, if you have tried your best to overcome the spirit of anger, and you have realized that there’s a force that seem stronger than you that pushes you to do evil things to others when angry, you need to give yourself to fasting (Matthew 17:21), and say these deliverance prayers from the spirit of anger.
