This month, our theme is the Manifestations of the Sons of God, based on Romans 8:19–22. The scripture tells us that creation eagerly waits for the manifestation of the sons of God.
Creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but in hope that it will be delivered from the bondage of corruption into the glorious liberty of the children of God.
We know that all of creation has been groaning and travailing in pain together until now.What this scripture means is that the world is waiting for you. It is waiting for you to manifest.
There are men and women struggling in bondage and sitting in darkness who want to see the light. We are the carriers of that light, and we are required to go forth and manifest it.
The Bible makes it clear that as we go, we do not go alone—God is within us. He wants you to go so that He can manifest Himself through you wherever you go.
Our core scripture this morning is 1 Corinthians 4:20, which says, “For the kingdom of God is not in word, but in power.” Ultimately, what is the proof of your ministry and your Christianity if we cannot see this manifestation in your life?
That is the true proof. Consider what Elijah said when he confronted the prophets of Baal in 1 Kings 18:21–24. He asked the people, “How long will you waver between two opinions? If the Lord is God, follow Him; but if Baal, then follow him.” The people did not answer a word. Elijah then challenged them to prepare a sacrifice and said, “The God who answers by fire, He is God.”
Today, I present that same proposition to each of you. If God is God, let us serve Him. Let us serve the God who answers prayers, deals with our issues, and moves according to His Word.
The proof of God is that He performs His Word; He is not a man that He should lie.While we are all expected to manifest, the scriptures give us specific requirements for this manifestation:
Acts 1:8 – You shall receive power after the Holy Spirit comes upon you, and then you shall be His witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.
Luke 24:49 – Jesus commanded His disciples to tarry (wait) in Jerusalem until they were endued with power from on high.Jesus knew that if they were going to manifest, they needed power. It is an integral part of the Christian walk.
The Lord is telling us to go forth and manifest, but not through empty talk. People must see the reality and demonstration of the Gospel in your life.
If the Bible says you will lay hands on the sick and they will recover, then lay hands and let us see them recover.
To manifest this power, you must wait for the Holy Spirit to endue you. You cannot walk this walk or manifest without Him. This is a power-driven walk, fueled by the Holy Spirit.
Therefore, if you have not experienced the baptism of the Holy Spirit—evidenced by speaking in tongues—and you desire this gift, pray to God, ask for this gift and He shall grant it into you
As Luke 11:13 says,
“If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him?”
God is ready to release that power to you today, but you must reach out and receive it. Is there anyone here who wants to be baptized in the Holy Spirit?
When we look at Acts 4:16, we see that when we begin to manifest as children of God, certain things are bound to happen. Often during evangelism, we try to convince people by sharing the Good News and encouraging them to accept Christ.
But the truth is, sometimes people need to see before they can believe.Prior to the events of Acts 4, Peter and John had gone to the temple where they met a lame man.
The man was looking to them for alms, but Peter and John told him, “Silver and gold we do not have, but what we do have, we give to you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.”
The man got up and began to walk, and the news spread everywhere.As crowds flooded to the apostles, the religious leaders gathered in panic, realizing these men might overrun them.
During their discussion, they asked, “What shall we do to these men? For indeed, that a notable miracle has been done by them is manifest to all those who dwell in Jerusalem, and we cannot deny it”.
When you begin to manifest as a child of God, the signs will be there. People will see it and they will not be able to deny it.
They will look at you and say, “This one is like Jesus; this one carries the character, the mind, and the power of God.”
Notable miracles will take place because the world is filled with people waiting for someone who carries a solution.Consider the story of the woman with the issue of blood in Mark 5:25–26.
The scripture says she had suffered from this condition for 12 years, had suffered many things under many physicians, and had spent all that she had—yet she was no better, but rather grew worse.
That is the exact condition of many people today. They have gone to many places looking for answers—looking for children, a husband, protection, or money. They have suffered deeply at the hands of charlatans and professionals who perhaps thought they were helping but were actually destroying them.
They stayed in that condition until Jesus Christ showed up and manifested the delivering power of God.This morning, as we close, we are going to pray.
A notable miracle is the ultimate proof that leaves no room for debate. Even the critics in Acts had to agree that a real miracle had taken place.I want each of us to pray for what you would consider a notable miracle in your own life.
Present a problem to God this morning that no human being has been able to solve for you. Perhaps you have suffered under the care of doctors, or maybe your struggle is financial. We just heard testimonies of a lady whose rent was miraculously paid, and another who was healed of an ulcer.
Identify whatever is ailing, troubling, worrying, or concerning you, and let us present it to God. Please rise to your feet. Whatever that issue is this morning, stand and present it to Him. Silver and gold we may not have, but that which we do have, we make available to you today.
In the name of Jesus, rise up and walk out of that challenge! Whatever that challenge is, you are the one who knows it. God has told us today that He is here, and He wants to do it for you
The Bible says that it is by reason of the anointing that yokes are broken—not by power, nor by might, but by God’s Spirit, Leave that issue with God. We are going to pray that the God who sees and searches the hearts of men will meet you at the point of your need today.
The proof of His presence will be in the answer to your prayer. If it is a genuine, legitimate need that aligns with the will of God for you—a situation in your life that is currently inconsistent with the Word of God—lift it up to Him today.
Prayer
Precious Father, we want to say thank you because You are a faithful God. For every one of the brethren here today lifting up a situation that no human being has been able to solve, a situation they know only You can fix, I pray for them. Since this aligns with Your Word and Your promises,
Father, in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, I ask that You answer that prayer this morning.In the name of Jesus, I speak to you and declare that what you have asked of the Lord today is done. Father, thank You for answering this prayer.
As you see the answer to your prayer manifest in the physical, I want you to come forward and give your testimony. That is the least you can do for the Most High. In the name of Jesus, Father, I thank You for answering every prayer.
Thank You for open doors and breakthroughs.Thank You for rebuking the devourer.
Thank You for helping each and every one of Your people.
Thank You for removing every pain.
Thank You for bringing reconciliation with loved ones.
Thank You for the provision to pay school fees..
Thank You, Father, for transforming the lives of these children.
Thank You, Father, for safe travel mercies and journeying grace.
Thank You for providing the resources to complete projects that looked impossible to finish.
Thank You for the opportunity for people to move into homes they thought they would never live in.
According to the desires of their hearts, Father, for every broken relationship that needs to be mended, thank You because even today it is mended in the name of Jesus.
Daddy, we say thank You. Thank You for Your faithfulness.
Thank You because, according to Your Word this morning, Christianity is less about talk and more about the manifestation of Your power.
Manifest Your power, Oh Lord, in the midst of Your people. In Jesus’ precious name we pray, Amen. Amen.
We are talking about the manifestations of the sons of God, but you can only manifest when you are truly a son. John 1:12 says, “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God”
“If you are here and you know in your heart that you are not a son or a daughter of God—that you do not have the right relationship with Him—but it is your desire to enter into that relationship this morning, I invite you to act.
Wherever you are, just raise your hand to God in surrender. You are saying, “This morning, I know I don’t have Jesus on the inside, but I want to invite Him in.”
