Read A Chapter A Day (RACAD) Numbers 2

Psalm 12&14

Table of Contents

This chapter is about the census of the men of War in Israel. Males from age 20 years upward who were able to go forth to war were numbered and enlisted in the armies of Israel as instructed by God.

1. The tribe of Judah had the highest number of men of War. They were numbered 74,600 headed by Nahshon the son of Amminadab.

All that were numbered in the camp of Judah were 186,400 men.

NOTABLE POINTS.

Verse 3,”And on the east side toward the rising of the sun shall they of the standard of the camp of Judah pitch throughout their armies: and Nahshon the son of Amminadab shall be captain of the children of Judah. ”

In Verse 9, the last line says, “These shall first set forth.”

JUDAH MEANS PRAISE.

In the book of Psalms 113:3,

it is stated, “From the rising of the sun to the going down of the same the LORD’S Name is to be

praised.”

In 2 Chronicles 20: 20-22,

The people rose up in the morning, Jehoshaphat appointed singers to go before the armies of Israel singing and praising the Name of the Lord. That was how they won the battle the Lord fighting for them!

Here in Verse 3, Judah pitched toward the east the sun rise, Judah meaning praise should go first shows that we should start our day rising up early in the morning to praise the Lord with songs!

Praise God first in every situation! The Psalmist says in Psalm 100:4, “Enter into His gate with thanksgiving and into His courts with praise…”

LESSONS LEARNT.

1. God first.

2. Start each day with praise to God.

3. God inhabits the praises of His people, so His presence will go with you throughout the day! Psalm22

4. You will win all the life’s battles of the Day!
