God created man to worship and praise Him for by him all things were created visible and invisible, principalities and power so God must be the first in your life.
Isaiah 43:21 “This people have I formed for myself; they shall shew forth my praise”.
Everything in creation is created to worship God even the elders and the angels in heaven do the same, because He sustains the Creation by the word of his power.
When you start your day who is your first? is it your business, your family, social media or career? in Genesis there was a man named Noah who found favor in the sight of God.
Genesis 6:17-18
“For behold, I, even I, will bring a flood of waters on the earth, to destroy all life under the heavens in which there is the breath and spirit of life; everything that is on the land shall die. 18 But I will establish My covenant (solemn promise, formal agreement) with you; and you shall come into the ark—you and your [three] sons and your wife, and your sons’ wives with you”.
God saw that Noah was a righteous man, hence God appointed Noah to build an ark.
As a covenant keeping God, when He said let there be light He ensured that light came forth, Noah got this understanding of God that with Him all things are possible, so He started building the ark as instructed by God. When he was done building, the flood came but Noah’s family and the animals were safe.
After the flood, Noah made a sacrifice to God in gratitude for divine safety, God accepted His sacrifice and made a covenant with Noah, and the covenant of the rainbow sign has lasted for generations.
Thanksgiving and sacrificial giving are very important in attracting God’s blessings
Abraham also built an altar unto God in worship (Genesis 12:8) and because of the faith and love He had for God He almost slaughtered his only son in sacrifice to God, he was ready to sacrifice Isaac on the altar but the Lord provided a ram in place of Isaac.
Just as these men loved and prioritized God in their lives, you also must learn to love God and prioritized Him above all other factors in your life (Genesis 22:6-14)
The story of Elijah and the widow also talks about putting God first, even though there was famine Prophet Elijah asked the widow to make food for him (Elijah been a representative of God), at first the woman explained that all she had was the last meal she planned to feed herself and her child before their death due to the famine, but Prophet Elijah insisted that she should do as instructed, eventually she yielded to the words of the Prophet and made their last meal for him, knowing fully well there was no other food in the house.
What happened after this woman’s sacrificial giving was a mind-blowing result of divine multiplication of resources, after her giving, God blessed her so much that she had more than enough to feed herself and the child till the famine was over (1 Kings 17:7-16).
In this season, ensure that you do not allow doubt and unbelief to stop you from paying your offering tithes, and first fruit. Remember all that you have comes from God therefore, you must not withhold anything from God.
“Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change.” (James 1:17)
