Bible Commentary 2 Chronicles 32

Psalm 12&14

Table of Contents

In 2 Chronicles 32, King Hezekiah was the son of king Ahaz, the great grandson of king Uzziah.

Hezekiah was the 13th successor of David king of Israel and Judah.

King Hezekiah was righteous in the sight of the LORD. So God fought his battles for him and gave him an all round victory over his adversaries !

This chapter captured a great and mighty terrible act of God for His people Israel against the Assyrian army and their king Sennacherib.

God humiliated the boastful Sennacherib and his great army by sending His angel to kill 185 thousand of his soldiers!

Sennacherib was perplexed! He fled home in shame and knelt in worship before his god and was killed by his own sons!

What a shame!

The LORD God of Israel whom he defied destroyed him and his great army!

All his empty threats and boasting against Hezekiah and the army of Israel were thwarted!

God be praised!

Sennacherib boasted that none of the gods of the nations he fought against could deliver them from his hands, how much less the God of Israel!

He didn’t know that he was insulting his creator. Verses 10-15.

People of God, as the LORD fought for Hezekiah and his people, He will fight for us and give us victory in all areas!

As every creature of God fought against Sennacherib and his cohorts, so shall every creature of God fight against all our adversaries in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!

The Rewards Of Righteousness.

Righteousness exalted Hezekiah. It will also exalt as many as love righteousness!

King Hezekiah died the death of the righteous and was buried in the chiefest of all the sepulchres of the sons of David.

Prayer

Father, help us to love righteousness in every area of our lives in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name!

Father, help us to obey you always in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
