This chapter is probably JESUS recorded lengthiest prayers
Here, HE gives 25 verses of passionate heart felt prayers towards GOD, to glorify HIM in us.
What is this glory? That through knowing HIM, we will not only receive eternal life but be unified in HIS love for the purpose of becoming HIS ambassadors on earth, continuing in HIS works.
HE prayed for the believers,
HE prayed for souls yet to be saved,
HE prayed for unity across denominations.
HE prayed that our relationship towards one another and even towards the world that hates us be powered by HIS love.
He stressed the unity, the oneness that exists between the father and HIM. It is the same unity, oneness that HE prayed for us to have. This unity begins with having HIM in our own lives and then flows out into all of us being one in HIM.
It is in this unity that is premised on HIS love that we can use to disarm the world and bring souls to CHRIST.
HE prayed fervently over and over again for us to be united because HE knew that the task ahead of us is an enormous one that could only be accomplished when we all dwell in unity and love.
HE prayed that we receive that same glory that can empower us to continue in what HE has done.
Take Away
1. Having eternal life is knowing JESUS
2. Knowing JESUS is being one with HIM
3. Being one with HIM is being one with everyone who is in HIM
4. Receiving HIS glory is being empowered to be HIS ambassador on earth
Am I living my life as HIS ambassador?
Prayer Point
Dear LORD, you have never ignored any prayer that CHRIST prayed. Please hear HIS prayer for us, and answer, and glorify HIM in us; make us one indeed, and stir us up to continue in HIS work in the mighty name of JESUS, Amen🙏🏿

Prayer
Father, thank You for the gift of life!
We pray that You reveal to all of us Your children the purpose of our existence here on earth and help us to do only Your will like Jesus did. This we pray in Jesus Christ’s Mighty Name! Amen!
Thank You, Jesus!
Bible Commentary On John 19.
Today, we study the Book of John chapter Nineteen, where the greatest travesty was recorded and Jesus was crucified, yet before He surrendered His Spirit to the Father, Jesus declared: “IT IS FINISHED”
Reflections
“It Is Finished!”
Key Scripture
“So, when Jesus has received the sour wine, He said “IT IS FINISHED!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”
(John 19:30)
What Is Finished?
We bear witness to FOUR TRUTHS from the FINISHED WORK OF THE CROSS
Sin Judged
Jesus became Sin hence because our sins were placed on Him. Consequently, received the JUDGMENT, that is DEATH. (Isaiah 53:6) & (Ez. 18:20-21)
Propitiation
Our Forgiveness was procured by the Blood of Jesus. (Heb 9:22) & (Romans 3:25-26)
3. Redemption
Christ redeemed us from:
Curse of the Law (Galatians 3: 13-14)
The guilt of sin
(Romans 3:24)
The power of Sin (1 Peter 1:18-19)
Victory
Jesus disarmed the powers of darkness and nailed their influence to His cross
(Colossians 3:15)
Brethren, the cornerstone of our faith rests on Truth that:
* JESUS CAME
* JESUS DIED
* JESUS ROSE FROM THE DEAD.
Hallelujah, we have “A RISEN SAVIOR”
Indeed, “For if the dead do not rise, then christ is not risen. And if christ is not risen, your faith is futile; you are still in your sins! Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ perished!
(1 Corinthians 15:18)
Conclusion
It is finished!
Jesus paid in FULL- Totally, Completely and Permanently.
Thank You, Jesus.
Prayer
Father, help us by your spirit to appreciate such a “GREAT SALVATION” by living worthy of the Lord. Amen. (Hebrews 2:3-4)
Bible Commentary on John 20
John 20:9 NKJV
“For as yet they did not know the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead”
Colossians 1:9 NKJV
“For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and understanding”
Mark 3:14 NKJV
“Then He appointed twelve, that they might be with Him”
Pondering over today’s reading, the realization hits home again of the need to KNOW the Scripture and retain them in our hearts so that we are not confused, or overtaken by the events of the times we are in.
No doubt we are in the latter days. However, the disposition of many in the body of Christ today, does not reflect that knowledge or the understanding of it.
Mk 3:17 tell us that in His earthly ministry, the Lord’s PRIORITY was that his disciples build intimacy with Him before any other assignment He gave them.
This is also needful in our lives today in view of the many things we are encumbered by that draw attention away from the one thing that is needful (Luke 10:42)
It is instructive that despite Jesus’s effort at telling them plainly on different occasions what had been written concerning Him in the Scriptures (regarding His death and Resurrection), they still did not KNOW.
Their lack of understanding showed through their actions. Even when Mary Magdalene narrated to them that she had seen the Lord, they did not believe he had risen as He said (Mk 16:11) .
Thankfully, Jesus Himself appeared to them, showed them His hands and His sides so they could believe (vs.19-20).
Today, Jesus may not have appeared to you to convince you in the areas you are doubting, but His word has come to us through His servant – We are OVER-COMERS (1 John 5:4)
Unbelief will always show through the actions we take or do not take. That’s why He left us with a primary source of instruction- The Bible.
Unfortunately, that has not been explored by many to guide our steps in the journey of life because they are not committed to maturing in the things of God.
Many believers are being tossed to and fro today because they have not given themselves to individually study and grow in their knowledge of God.
They have delegated this responsibility to the clergy, who, with the exception of few, have exploited them to their own advantage.
Investing our time in knowing the Scripture and following them is likened to a lamp shining in a dark place in 2 Peter 1:19. As we approach the end of 2025, God is committed to divinely providing us with the guidance needed to end the year triumphantly and enter 2026 with our spoils of war.

The Restoration of Peter (John 21:15-19)
Jesus’ threefold question to Peter, Do you love Me? (John 21:15-17), mirrors Peter’s three denials, offering him a path to restoration and reaffirmation of his calling.
The command to Feed My sheep (John 21:17) underscores the responsibility of spiritual leadership and care for the flock of believers.
Jesus’ prophecy about Peter’s future (John 21:18-19) emphasizes the cost of discipleship and the call to follow Christ, even unto death.
The Role of John (John 21:20-25)
The conversation about the beloved disciple (John 21:20-23) teaches us about the unique roles and paths God has for each believer.
The closing verses (John 21:24-25) affirm the reliability of the Gospel account and the vastness of Jesus’ works.
